Improved Access
How does it work in Tunbridge Wells?
Clinics will be held at Rusthall Medical Centre, The Wells, Clanricarde, Kingswood, Grosvenor & St James, Lonsdale Medical Centre, Speldhurst & Greggswood, Waterfield House (Pembury) and St Andrews on a rotational basis.
What type of appointments are available?
- Monday to Friday an Advanced Nurse Practitioner will be available 2pm to 8pm (Advanced Nurse Practitioner can treat and prescribe for certain conditions).
- Saturdays a GP and a Practice Nurse will be available between 9am to 1pm.
- Sundays and Bank Holidays a GP will be available between 9pm to 12pm (in Warders Medical Centre, Tonbridge).
Who can book these appointments?
Improved Access appointments are available for all patients in Tunbridge Wells, regardless of where they are located. This means that Rusthall Medical Centre patients can book these appointments 7 days a week, 52 weeks of the year. It is unlikely to be your normal GP who sees you at the weekend and you may have to go to a different surgery to Rusthall Medical Centre for these appointments.
How can I book an appointment?
In order to book these appointments, you contact the surgery reception staff as normal. The surgery phone opening times remain as normal. Patients can phone between 8am to 6:30pm Monday to Friday. This will not change as a result of this scheme and therefore you will not be able to phone the reception staff on Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays or between 6:30pm to 8pm Monday to Friday.
